Tapeworm in cats, kittens, dogs and puppies

Prevention and treatment

The usual method of prevention in this case is to ensure that your dog does not have access to the carcasses of rabbits, sheep or cattle, and that your cat is not allowed to feed on rodents.

However, if you live in a rural area and this is impractical, you should ensure that your cat or dog is regularly wormed with a product licensed specifically to remove Taenia spp worms.
